SR LUCY ADHIAMBO MANG'ENI 1990 - 2025
Just a few weeks after making her Final Profession of Vows, our dear Sister Lucy died after a short illness on 2nd September 2025, aged 35 years.
Sr Lucy made her First Profession on 2nd February 2018 and her Final Profession on 18th July 2025.
Her funeral took place on 12th September 2025 at Mundika, the first African sister to be buried in our community cemetery. May she rest in peace.
Final Profession in India
On 21st July 2025, Srs Usha and Priya made their Final Profession at House of Peace, Yercaud. Congratulations Sisters!
Final Profession and Silver Jubilee in East Africa
On 18th July 2025, Srs Lucy, Annette and Abigael made their Final Profession at Mundika, Kenya. They were joined by Sr Sylvia from Uganda who was celebrating her Silver Jubilee. Congratulations Sisters!
SR PATRICE IRUDAYAM 1952-2025
Sr Patrice Irudayam died in our hospital at Tiruvannamalai, India on Saturday 24th May 2025.
She entered the community in India in 1986 and came to England to make her First Profession in 1988 at Holy Cross Priory. She made her Final Profession in 1991 at Bangalore.
Her funeral and burial took place at Grace and Compassion Priory, Tiruvannamalai on 25th May 2025. May she rest in peace.
SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATION IN SRI LANKA
On 4th May 2025 Sr Rosemarie and Sr Priyanga celebrated their Silver Jubilee of Profession with a Mass of Thanksgiving at Melville Priory. The chief celebrant was Bishop Emeritus Cletus Perera OSB. Our picture shows the Jubilarians and Sr. Kathy cutting the cake after which lunch was enjoyed by the community and guests.
ISBF MEETING IN INDIA FEBRUARY 2025
Sr Shoba Chandrasekaran 1960 - 2025
Sr Shoba Chandrasekaran died in our hospital at Tiruvannamalai, India on Thursday 6th February 2025.
She entered the community in India in 1981 and came to England in 1982 to start her Novitiate. She made her First Profession in 1985 at Holy Cross Priory and her Final Profession in 1990 at Tiruvannamalai.
Her funeral took place at Tiruvannamalai on 7th February 2025. May she rest in peace.
First Profession in East Africa
In October 2023 Sisters Placidah, Valentine, Mercy, Sarah, Faith and Leocadia made their First Profession at Grace and Compassion Convent Mundika, Kenya.

In October 2023 Sr Minali made her Fist Profession at Melville Priory.
Silver Jubilee Celebrations in India
Following the Silver Jubilee celebration in England most of the 2023 Jubilarians joined sisters from the Indian communities for Masses at Yercaud and Makkiyad in September. Congratulations to all those who have completed 25 years of Profession.
Silver Jubilee Celebration at Holy Cross Priory
On 22nd August 2023 , Sisters Rani, Rosily, Beatrice, Julie and Romilda celebrated their Silver Jubilee of Profession with a Mass of Thanksgiving at Holy Cross Priory. This was followed by an enjoyable gathering of community, family and friends and a lovely meal.

On Saturday 15th April 2023 we celebrated the joyful occasion of the Final Profession of Srs Roselyne, Lilian, Grace, Vianney and Eliza in the grounds of the Parish Church next to the Convent at Mundika in Kenya. Congratulations Sisters!

On 25th March 2023 Sr Piyumi made her First Profession of Vows at Melville Priory, Sri Lanka. Congratulations to Sr Piyumi.

Renewal of Vows
Five sisters in East Africa renewed their vows in October and will soon start preparing for their Final Vows. Congratulations to Sisters Roselyne, Lilian, Grace, Vianney and Eliza.
Sr Catherine Griffin, 1931 - 2022
Sister Catherine Griffin died peacefully in the West Suffolk Hospital, aged 91, on Thursday 25th August 2022. Born in Ireland, she came to work in England and entered Community in 1966 at Holy Cross Priory. She worked in most of our houses and abroad and in 2019 she celebrated her Golden Jubilee. Sr Catherine was living at Montana, Bury St. Edmunds at the time of her death and will be buried at Holy Cross Priory at the end of September. May she rest in peace.
General Chapter - June 2022
A General Chapter was held at the Kairos Centre at Roehampton in June 2022. Although some sisters did not arrive due to visa problems the Chapter went ahead and on 23rd June, Sr Kathy Yeeles was re-elected as Prioress General for a 6 year term, together with the General Councillors, Sr Carmel Murtagh, Sr Metilda George, Sr Thaya Moses and Sr Beatrice Odinyu. Sr Gabrielle Tinsley, 1921 – 2022
Sister Gabrielle Tinsley died peacefully at Holy Cross Care Home, aged 100 years, on Monday 30th May 2022. She entered the community in 1972 and worked at our houses in England, India and East Africa. She was the Superior of the first foundation at Mundika in Kenya for many years. Her funeral took place at Holy Cross Priory, Heathfield on 30th June 2022. May she rest in peace.
Congratulations to Sr Gabrielle who celebrated her 100th Birthday on 29th December 2021
Sr Gabrielle is the first of our sisters to reach the great age of 100 and she was determined to have a wonderful day. She was able to join the community at Holy Cross Priory for Mass in the main chapel and then she had her lunch, cut the cake and opened cards before returning to the care home.
